Miami Beach Art Deco Weekend

Miami is a city with a colorful past. Once a year, Miami celebrates its iconic deco design with its Art Deco Weekend festival, a weekend full of local food trucks, classic cars, art deco memorabilia, and city walking tours. It was a glorified street fair, spanning ten blocks along Ocean Avenue, with locals displaying art, clothing, as well as vintage shopping booths. This is a great way to immerse yourself into Miami's culture while appreciating its past. I even had the opportunity to try fried alligator at one of the food booths. Yum! All in all, the festival proved to be an entertaining way to spend the afternoon in South Beach. Whether you are a classic car buff, foodie, shopaholic, or just a curious people watcher, there is something to entertain everyone at the Art Deco Weekend.

It's Miami Beach, there will always be someone scantily clad... Just wish it wasn't him!

Love the vintage suitcase in the hood!

Only in Florida...

First bite of my fried alligator skewer. Tastes like chicken, I swear!

My first attempt at alligator meat

Vintage scarves and Miami memorabilia

Love this vintage pillow!

Interesting people watching, as always

  1. Love your blog! I'm in Florida now. Saw fog roll in across the ocean yesterday until we couldn't see the condo from the beach but it was still sunny! I love it here! I'm going to go back and read your old posts.
